About Skipper

Skipper began as an onboard marine assistant, created for an environment where privacy, independence, and reliable access to information matter.

It has since grown into something broader: a self-contained, offline AI companion designed to provide useful assistance without relying on the internet or external cloud services.

Skipper can communicate through voice and chat, search its locally stored knowledge, remember useful information, recognize familiar objects, provide reminders and alerts, assist with practical tasks, and respond proactively to events around it. Its purpose is not simply to answer questions, but to become a dependable and familiar presence within the environment where it operates.

Although Skipper was born from the needs of life at sea, it is not limited to marine use. The same approach can support remote homes, cabins, workshops, expeditions, vehicles, and other places where privacy, independence, and reliable offline operation are important.
